Mich Hancock is quickly becoming known as the go-to-gal when it comes to social media in St. Louis. How did she come to find her passion in social media? “I wrote a book,” says Mich, “and I began marketing the book via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube, and fell in love with it all!” Where most author’s books become their vehicle for workshop offerings and speaking engagements, Mich’s book led to an infatuation with social media.
She quickly discovered that her mix of talents and college degrees, she has two degrees from St. Louis University (one in Marketing and one in Computer Science), all lent themselves to social media success. She has a geeky love for the internet and the opportunities it provides for knowledge and connection with others from around the globe. As a writer, she is both resourceful and processes information quickly; very helpful in this ever growing and ever changing realm. Her background in event marketing and management is also a plus; planning an amazing event is one thing, but if no one shows up or engages in the event, it’s all for naught. The same can be said for a social media presence; people need to find out about it, be invited to it, show up to it and engage with it. It’s the key to achieving an active and connected online charisma.
Mich’s passion lies in “Giving the Little Guy a Big Voice” – helping the small business to best utilize social media to market and create community.
